Brat Fest is partnering with MGE to advance clean energy as part of Brat Fest’s Green Power Initiative. Brat Fest’s carbon emissions from electricity used to power the Fest will be offset with green power sponsored by MGE.
This partnership builds upon Brat Fest’s Zero Waste Initiative. Last year, Brat Fest reduced overall waste and converted 55% of all waste through recycling and composting. Now, Brat Fest is going green with wind and solar power.
Renewable energy is one strategy for reducing emissions. Energy efficiency is another. Another key strategy for reducing carbon emissions is the electrification of transportation. There will be several electric vehicles at Brat Fest for attendees to check out and learn more about the benefits of going electric.
MGE will have a booth at Brat Fest where you can:
1. Learn about clean energy projects and programs from MGE, such as Shared Solar and Green Power Tomorrow.
2. Learn about electric vehicles – several models of electric vehicles will be on display.
3. Learn how everyone can be more energy efficient.
With the previously introduced Zero Waste Initiative, partnering with MGE to power Brat Fest with green power is a great next step for an environmentally sustainable celebration.
In addition, Brat Fest is proud to roll out Green Cab as its sponsored cab company for the festival. Green Cab will be serving festival-goers throughout the weekend as well as helping deliver brats to Seniors on Sunday, May 26.
